NQF 4 RPL Real Estate Course

The PPRA (former Estate Agents Affairs Board) has regulated that all estate agents must comply with education regulation prior to renewing their FFC. To meet these tight deadlines, we have developed the RPL4 for real estate practitioners who have experience in the industry, and qualify as per the requirements.

To qualify for RPL in your NQF4 qualification, you must have been a registered FFC holder. You must have a South African ID document or permanent residency, a matric certificate that states you have passed Mathematics and two South African Languages, or NQF3 in mathematics and second official South African language. Why Municipal Property Valuers play a critical role in local government:

The Municipal Property Assessor has a vital impact in helping produce a valuation roll, which is a database compiled in terms of the Local Government: Municipal Properties Rates Act No 6 of 2004, in which a Municipality stores the municipal valuations of all properties recorded on that particular roll. Every property in every municipality area should be on a general roll, but because properties are continuously coming into existence and ceasing to exist, and as such new rolls are created to include any properties that have not been previously recorded on another, prior general roll.

Each general roll is re-published once every few years, normally 4 to 5 years in Johannesburg, and the property values are updated at the same time. Depending on several factors, your property value may have stayed the same, increased, or decreased from the value contained on the last roll. The information on the valuation roll is used to calculate your rates and taxes each month.

  • Then register and receive your FFC as a candidate and immediately commence with the Workplace module. Which must be completed within 180 days of being issued an FFC.

NQF4 Literacy Course

This pre-requisite to the NQF Level 4 Real Estate course may seem daunting, but it is not. PropAcademy’s online Literacy course is designed with your needs in mind, ensuring that you can successfully complete it in record time. This course will be completed post your NQF4 course, not prior.

The purpose of this course is to ensure that you can integrate foundational and reflective competence across all fundamental literacy unit standards.  It is delivered in both English and Afrikaans, enabling you to converse in two South African languages.

NQF 4: Literacy

The Authority, which falls under the Property Practitioners Regulatory Authority, legislates that all candidate property practitioners must complete their internship within two years from the date of registration.  To complete this internship, you must be competent in your FET: NQF Level 4 Real Estate 59097.  One of the pre-requisites stipulated by the South African Qualification Association (SAQA) is that you must have completed fundamental literacy at Matric or NQF4 level.

NQF5 Course

The NQF5 in Real Estate is a critical qualification for those aiming to become a Principal Agent. It equips estate agents and auctioneers with the skills needed to manage a real estate business effectively and sustainably.

This qualification is ideal for those already in the industry or aspiring to leadership roles, including property development and general management. Developed in collaboration with the real estate sector, it ensures relevance and compliance.

If you’re a non-principal agent aiming to become a Principal, and you already hold your NQF4 and have passed your PDE4, you’ll need to complete this NQF5 Principal qualification and then pass the PDE5 to upgrade your status with the PPRA.

Enrol in the NQF Level 5 Real Estate course online. Once your order has been processed, you will receive immediate access to the Induction Module.

As part of the induction process, you will be required to upload the following documents:

  • A copy of your ID
  • Your valid FFC
  • Proof that you have successfully completed an NQF Level 4 qualification

These documents will be reviewed and verified by our assessor. Once the verification has been completed and all entry requirements have been confirmed, access to the remainder of your course will be opened.

Course duration and extensions

This course will expire after 12 – months. Extensions maybe granted if you qualify.

Who is this qualification for?

This qualification is for any individual who has their NQF Level 4 in Real Estate:

  1. Aspiring Principals: to upgrade your status to Principal, this is a requirement.
  2. Real Estate Agents: Individuals who wish to expand their knowledge in the Real Estate sector.
  3. Principals: who do not have their NQF 5 in Real Estate but hold Principal Status with the PPRA.

How do I complete the course?

You log in to your course and get started. The course materials are accessible online, structured systematically, and presented in a user-friendly format.

External Integrated Summative Assessment EISA exam: To achieve this qualification, you are required to successfully complete the External Integrated Summative Assessment (EISA).

The EISA is the final external assessment for the qualification and is conducted through the relevant QCTO Assessment Quality Partner (AQP).

The EISA assesses whether you can apply the knowledge and practical skills you have gained during your qualification. It focuses on the Exit Level Outcomes (ELOs) of the course.

The EISA must be completed at an approved assessment centre and is run by the Service SETA and the QCTO.

Important: Successfully completing your course requirements makes you eligible to enter the EISA. You must also successfully complete the EISA before the occupational qualification can be awarded.

Enrolment requirements:

The SAQA pre-requisite for this qualification is that you have successfully completed the Occupational Certificate: Real Estate Agent NQF 4 or the legacy qualification Further Education and Training Certificate: Real Estate NQF 4.

How many credits does this qualification hold?

This qualification has 160 credits, which equates to 1600 notional hours (study hours needed to complete the course). SSETA require 30% of the time spent studying to be in the form of face-to-face, and to satisfy this need, we supply monthly webinars, which you must attend.
