Who is this course for?

To complete your NQF Level 4 Real Estate ID 59097 course, you must have mathematics or mathematical literacy at a Matric level and provide evidence of this on your South African matric certificate. This 6-week course will satisfy that requirement. How long this will take is key – and this depends very much on how structured your study time is and how quickly you can collect your evidence. Functional Mathematics is part of the NQF Level 4 Real Estate ID 59097 course and cannot be done with another provider.

The Functional Mathematics course is designed to be started once you have completed your NQF Level 4 Real Estate ID 59097 course. Then, once your order is processed, you can get started right away! Why should I do this course?

The purpose of this course is to enable you to measure, estimate and calculate physical quantities in practical situations. The outcome is that you will be able to explore, analyse, critique, describe, represent, interpret, and justify geometrical relationships and conjectures to solve problems in two- and three-dimensional geometrical situations.

You will understand how to use mathematics to plan and control financial instruments, including budgets and business and marketing plans. You will also understand how to use simple and compound interest to make sense of and define various situations, including mortgage loans, present values, annuities, and sinking funds. You will be able to investigate various aspects of costs and revenue, including marginal costs, marginal revenue and optimisation of profit. Debate aspects of the national and global economy, including tax, productivity and the equitable distribution of resources. Finally, you will also be able to critique and use techniques for collecting, organising and representing data, as well as use theoretical and experimental probability to develop models, make predictions and study problems whilst critically interrogating and using probability and statistical models in problem-solving and decision making in real-world situations.

The NQF5 in Real Estate is a critical qualification for those aiming to become a Principal Agent. It equips estate agents and auctioneers with the skills needed to manage a real estate business effectively and sustainably.

If you’re a non-principal agent aiming to become a Principal, and you already hold your NQF4 and have passed your PDE4, you’ll need to complete this NQF5 Principal qualification and then pass the PDE5 to upgrade your status with the PPRA.

This qualification is for any individual who has their NQF Level 4 in Real Estate:

  1. Aspiring Principals: to upgrade your status to Principal this is a requirement.
  2. Real Estate Agents: Individuals who wish to expand their knowledge in the Real Estate sector.
  3. Principals: who do not have their NQF 5 in Real Estate but hold Principal Status with the PPRA.

How do I complete the course?

You log in to your course and get started. The course materials are accessible online, structured systematically, and presented in a user-friendly format. Summative Assessment: An external integrated summative assessment, conducted through the relevant QCTO Assessment Quality Partner is required for the issuing of this qualification. The external integrated summative assessment will focus on the exit level outcomes and associated assessment criteria. The external integrated summative assessment (EISA) will be conducted through a theoretical assessment, responding to scenarios and the evaluation of practical tasks on selected modules using relevant checklists at an approved assessment site in a simulated environment (where relevant) and conducted by assessors registered with the relevant AQP.

Enrolment requirements:

The SAQA pre-requisite for this qualification is that you have successfully completed the Occupational Certificate: Real Estate Agent NQF 4 or the legacy qualification Further Education and Training Certificate: Real Estate NQF 4.

How many credits does this qualification hold?

This qualification has 160 credits, which equates to 1600 notional hours (study hours needed to complete the course). SSETA require 30% of the time spent studying to be in the form of face-to-face, and to satisfy this need, we supply monthly webinars, which you must attend.

NQF 4: 150 Credits

Services SETA (SSETA) governs, controls and monitors education standards.  Our real estate industry falls under SSETA Trade and Industry. It is legislated that to be a full status real estate agent, you must be found competent in the outcomes-based NQF Level 4 Real Estate.  This qualification has 150 credits, which equates to 1 500 notional hours (study hours needed to complete the course). PropAcademy will hold workshops and webinars that you must attend to adhere to SSETA standards.

The NQF 4 six-month course is not daunting. We’ve designed it so that you can easily complete the qualification at your own pace within the allocated time.

If you do not have a South African matric (grade 12) that states you have passed both Mathematics and a 2nd  South African language, or if you have passed these subjects but mislaid the certificate and cannot retrieve it, then you will need to purchase the relevant bridging courses through PropAcademy. The NQF Level 3 Functional Mathematics Course and/or the NQF Level 3 Literacy Course. These bridging courses carry specific unit standards that are essential to obtaining your NQF4 and cannot be exempted against based on equivalent subjects passed in other qualifications.

To qualify for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) in this qualification you must have held a FFC for no less than 12-months, and be able to perform the required outcomes of the full course.  To see more, please access our NQF4 RPL course and follow the prompts.

Once you have finished your NQF 4 PoE and have been found competent by us, SSETA will be contacted to visit our office and moderate your file, or a group of files.  This is a lengthy exercise but at PropAcademy we aim to obtain your SSETA Certificate of Competency for you in record time.  This certificate is endorsed by the South African Qualification Association (SAQA).

Once you are found competent in your Logbook (EAAB) and your NQF4 (SSETA) you will then be in a position to register for your PDE 4 exam with the EAAB.
