RPL EAAB Exemptions

Recognition of Prior Learning RPL Course1. Further Education and Training (FET) National Qualification Forum (NQF) Level 4 : Real Estate – SAQA ID 59097

and

2. Further Education and Training (FET) National Qualification Forum (NQF) Level 5 : Real Estate – SAQA ID 21088

  • Exemptions are offered to applicants who have SAQA and other qualifications with subject matter that is relevant to real estate;
  • Principals, who held a FFC on 15 July 2008 to current and have passed the old Estate Agents Affairs Exam are exempt from NQF4;
  • Non principle estate agents practising as full status or in a non-principle capacity as well as those who have written and passed the old Board Exam, can apply for exemption to NQF4.

All the above are required to complete an RPL Portfolio of Evidence (PoE) through an accredited training provider or RPL assessment centre approved by the Board.

To apply for this equivalency exemption the applicant must have a current FFC, pay the EAAB application fee, produce a current CV and produce certified copies of:

  • ID
  • Qualifications (Foreign qualifications to be verified by South African Qualification Association (SAQA))
  • Courses passed towards attainment of above qualifications
  • Professional qualifications or designations awarded to applicant.

And produce evidence that you are competent in the real estate industry.Your application will be assessed by PropAcademy according to the SAQA requirements, and if successful. once your PoE is complete, PropAcademy will supply a letter of exemption.

If approved you will receive an equivalency exemption letter from the Board indicating the qualification(s) in respect of which you have been found to be entitled in terms of an equivalency exemption.

3. Professional Designated Exam (PDE) against NQF 4 & 5 qualifications

A PDE exemption does not supersede a NQF qualification.  If an agent had a valid FFC for a continual five year period between 15 July 2003 and 15 July 2008 he may be found to be exempt.  Download EAAB application form here.

The RPL EAAB Exemption Application includes the following:

  • Registration form which must be completed, signed by you and your Principle Agent then uploaded online.  The original signed copy must be placed in yourPortfolio of Evidence (PoE).
  • RPL NQF 4 & NQF 5 Summary helps you understand the basis of what is required to complete this PoE.
  • RPL Exemption Checklist must be completed, signed and uploaded online.
  • RPL EAAB NQF 4 Matrix indicates which qualifications and courses will be accepted by the Board as credits against the NQF qualifications.
  • RPL EAAB NQF 5 Matrix indicates which qualifications and courses will be accepted by the Board as credits against the NQF qualifications.
