NQF Courses for Estate Agents in South Africa
NQF4 Full Qualification
Newcomers to the industry have two years within which to become qualified as a Full Status Agent. Part of this process is to achieve competency in the NQF 4 course. In order to be eligible to take the NQF4 course, the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) requires you to have passed Mathematics and a 2nd South African language at NQF3 level (grade 11). If you do not have these qualifications, don’t panic, PropAcademy have both qualifications available as short easy to follow courses, see below.
NQF4 Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
If you have been a registered agent for several years or are re-entering the industry and the EAAB requires you to have NQF4 in Real Estate, you should apply to complete the NQF4 RPL course. The benefit of this is that you obtain the full NQF4 qualification in half the time. In addition, you do not need to acquire Notional Hours. In order to be eligible to take the NQF4 course, the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) requires you to have passed Mathematics and a 2nd South African language at NQF3 (grade 11). If you do not have these qualifications, don’t panic, PropAcademy have short courses available to satisfy this need. See below.
Functional Mathematics and/or Literacy
You must have passed Functional Mathematics and a 2nd South African language at NQF3 (grade 11) or matric level to be eligible for the NQF4 course. If you do not have one or both of these subjects, you should register for Functional Maths and/or Literacy course at the same time as you register for the NQF4 or the NQF4 RPL course. PropAcademy’s Functional Mathematics & Literacy short courses are designed to give you all the tools you need to achieve competency in record time. If you already have Maths or a 2nd South African language at matric or NQF3 level, you only need to register for the NQF4 course.
NQF5 Full Qualification
Congratulations on deciding to take responsibility for your journey in real estate by becoming a Principal Property Practitioner. To achieve this status, you must achieve your NQF Level 5 Real Estate qualification.
NQF5 Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
If you have held a Fidelity Fund Certificate at Principal Status, or if you have managed all aspects of an estate agency firm or branch, you may apply to complete your NQF5 as RPL. The benefit of this is that the period of the course is shortened and you do not have to produce Notional Hours.
