With effect 15 July 2008, as per Regulations 633 of the Estate Agency Act of 1976, all estate agents must complete an NQF qualification to be able to write their Estate Agents Professional Designated Exam (PDE) in order to work as an estate agent in South Africa.
To start your own agency and become a principal agent you would have to have achieved your NQF5 qualification. The next step would be to register with the Board and be issued with a Principal Status FFC. Then write and be found competent in your PDE5 exam. The Board requires that you trade as a Principal Agent before writing the set exam, so that you can achieve experience in managing an estate agency firm from admin to operations and including finance.
PropAcademy’s accredited facilitators and assessors are all trained to ensure that you achieve your goal in record time. Because we understand the RPL systems that Service SETA has implemented, we are equipped to help you successfully complete the PoE as quickly as possible, enabling you to advance your career in the real estate industry as a Principal Property Practitioner and proudly display the well-earned title MPRE – Master Practitioner Real Estate on your stationery.
Note: It is possible to be exempt from your NQF5 qualification if you have a university degree with subjects that are related to the real estate industry and fall within the EAAB set matrix. Click here for more info.
